Buchanan took the silver medal in the women's final, where she finished second to the reigning Olympic champion, Colombia's Mariana Pajon, who was competing in front of her home crowd.
The silver medal came on the back of her gold medal in the women's time trial on Sunday.
Buchanan finished nearly a second behind Pajon in the final after the Colombian qualified third fastest. USA's Alise Post came third.
The 25-year-old Canberran took out the time trial the previous day, winning by 0.301 seconds from Holland's Laura Smulders, with Pajon third.
Now Buchanan will set her sights on winning gold at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in August.
