Stingers played Cloncurry Eagles at home and ran away with the game closing 48 to 12.
Stingers started the game strong busting through the Eagles defense line and putting a score on the board early.
Stingers coach, Sorren Owens, said it was a great start of the team coming off the back of some previous ordinary starts.
We had worked on our line speed, as we felt this was the problem with our last two losses. Therefore we didn’t go for size, we went for speed.

“It was a nice line break and the team worked well to dominate their defense,” he said.
“We had worked on our line speed, as we felt this was the problem with our last two losses. Therefore we didn’t go for size, we went for speed.”
Owens said their forward pack dominated Cloncurry for the whole game only letting two tries through.
“We are still trying to find our best 20 players. We had four fresh faces on the field this week trying to find their feet and the team should have settled within the next two weeks.
“Also the Eagles only produced 15 players and this game was not a representation of their teams full potential.”
Cloncurry Eagles president, Cicely Baira, said players received multiple injuries two weeks ago culling their numbers against Stingers last week.
“Playing against Stingers on a good day with a full team is difficult,” she said.
“It was a hard ask but the boys played well, especially with only 13 players in the second half.
“Cloncurry have only lost two games in the competition all season, both against the Stingers.”
Cloncurry is currently positioned third on the leader board.
Other results from the weekend included Brothers defeating Wanderers 60 to 24 and Town defeated Black Stars 68 to 8.
This Saturday will see Brothers travel up to Normanton to play the Stingers at 3pm.
Games in Mount Isa at Alec Inch Oval on Saturday, will see Black Stars play Cloncurry Eagles at 11am and the final game will see Town play Wanderers at 5pm.
