Collingwood premiership forwards Travis Cloke and Chris Dawes have both been named to return to the AFL this weekend, joining feelgood story Jack Trengove as big-name inclusions for round 11.

Meanwhile, Geelong have reacted to their second consecutive surprise loss by dropping three players for Saturday's clash with Greater Western Sydney.

While the Magpies will trim their 25-man squad on Friday afternoon, Cloke has been picked at centre-half forward, and is set to play in Sunday's match against Port Adelaide at the MCG. Cloke, 29, was dropped before the Pies' round-five Anzac Day match after a poor start to the season.

Fairfax Media reported on Wednesday that Cloke would be named in the side, barring mishap at training on Thursday.

Cloke got through the session with no issues. He was included alongside Brent Macaffer, Ben Sinclair, Jarrod Witts, Matt Goodyear and Jonathon Marsh. The Magpies will need to make at least three changes, with Darcy Moore (collarbone), Alex Fasolo (shoulder) and Taylor Adams (hamstring) all unavailable following injuries in last Sunday's loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Fellow Pie Alan Toovey had been in doubt after collapsing on the field mid-match last weekend, but Pies coach Nathan Buckley said he was likely to play.

Former Melbourne captain Trengove is set to play his first senior game in 797 days when he lines up against Hawthorn on Saturday. The South Australian has not played at the top level since round two, 2014, having battled a serious and ongoing foot injury during the two years since.

Dawes, who shared a forward line with Cloke in the Pies' 2010 premiership team, is yet to play an AFL game this year, after battling calf issues in recent months. Dawes and Trengove are joined as inclusions by Sam Frost, Aaron vandenBerg and Clayton Oliver.

Ben Kennedy, Ben Newton and Alex Neal-Bullen have been dropped, while Colin Garland (cheekbone) and Jack Viney (hand/suspension) are both unavailable.

The Hawks have named Kade Stewart to make his debut. Daniel Howe is back, with Matt Spangher (hamstring) and Will Langford (managed) making way.

The Cats have dumped Billie Smedts, Jordan Murdoch and Cory Gregson from the team that lost to Carlton last Sunday. Daniel Menzel, Lincoln McCarthy and Tom Ruggles have been recalled.

North Melbourne have left out Trent Dumont for Friday night's match against Richmond, with Mason Wood back following his concussion.

The Tigers are unchanged.Essendon have recalled ruckman Matthew Leuenberger and youngsters Jackson Merrett and Will Hams for Saturday night's match against fellow strugglers Fremantle in Perth. Mark Jamar has been dropped, Michael Hartley misses with a hamstring issue and veteran James Kelly has been rested.

The Dockers have named captain David Mundy to return from injury.

St Kilda will be without veteran defender Sam Fisher for Sunday's match away to Adelaide. Defenders Hugh Goddard and Tom Lee loom as Fisher's likely replacements, having been named in the Saints' 25-man squad.

Jack Billings and Jimmy Webster are also in the 25, after the pair missed last weekend's win over Fremantle.

Carlton have included Nick Graham and Ciaran Byrne for Saturday's match against the Brisbane Lions. Marc Murphy (ankle) and Liam Sumner (foot) are unavailable. The Lions have named captain Tom Rockliff to return from injury. They have also picked Geelong-listed midfielder Jarrad Jansen, who is set to make his debut.

Beleaguered Gold Coast have made six changes for Saturday night's match against Sydney – five of which are unforced.
