Jordan Rapana has been the NRL's most destructive back on the wing as his 'bromance' on Canberra's right edge with Joey Leilua flourishes.

But he could get a chance to do even more damage if he is moved off the wing to fullback against Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night.

Rapana appears the early favourite to replace Jack Wighton after he accepted a one-match suspension for touching touch judge Brett Suttor in the first half of Friday's 30-18 win over Manly.

The loss of Wighton is a blow after his man-of-the-match performance against the Sea Eagles, which emphatically snapped his recent form slump.

"I just felt as though, albeit it was unintentional, there was nothing we could argue with the charge itself," Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said.

"Asked if he would name Rapana at fullback on Tuesday afternoon, Stuart said: "I don't know yet, we're not too sure."

The Raiders have a ready made fullback replacement in Rapana, who is the NRL's equal try scorer (10) the league leader in line breaks (16) and tackle breaks (72) and averages over 150 metres per game.

"We'll see what Sticky [coach Ricky Stuart] does but Rapa would probably be the obvious choice," Raiders halfback Aidan Sezer said.

"He's a damaging ball runner and it would be good to see him get more ball in his hands.

"Jack was tremendous on Friday and no doubt it will leave a big hole to fill and whoever jumps in there will have to do a job."

Rapana and Leilua have been so dominant, Manly purposely kicked to touch down Canberra's left edge to avoid their dynamic one-two punch out of danger.

While excited at the prospect of Rapana having more room to move, Sezer believes Wighton is unlucky to miss a game for what he felt was an innocuous act.

Asked if there should be a fine system, similar to the AFL, for such instances, Sezer said: "I don't think there's any malice in it, if the ref comes close to you it's human nature to put your hands up and protect yourself.

"I can't comment on it too much, I haven't seen it yet."

Prop Junior Paulo, who made his Raiders debut against Manly following his mid-season switch from Parramatta, agreed Wighton has been hard done by.

"I don't think Jack even realises he's touched the ref, it's one of those cases where if you have the intention you should be punished," Paulo said.

"But in that case I don't think Jack had any intention of touching the ref.

"We're just going to have to cop it on the chin and miss out on a week if he has to."

Shannon Boyd will miss the Broncos game after taking the early guilty plea for a shoulder charge on Jake Trbojevic, with Paul Vaughan or Shaun Fensom expected to return to the side.

The Raiders are now just a point outside the top four after three straight wins, while the Broncos are looking to arrest a three-game losing slide.

"Especially coming off a loss in New Zealand [the Broncos will be primed], but in this Origin period when the going gets tough, the tough teams show what they've got," Paulo said.

"I didn't expect to be in Canberra so soon, but with what's been happening in Sydney with me, I felt like this was the best move for me.

"Especially for my kids, being a young father.

"I just got back from Sydney this morning as I had to drop my missus and kids off, the traffic is one thing I don't miss.

"It's a hard to deal with, coming from a club like that [Eels] but I'm grateful to have an opportunity in Canberra and to get my head space right away from Sydney.

"I'm calling Canberra home and it's pretty much god's country, isn't it?"
