Running in an anti-clockwise direction the tight and twisty nature of the circuit will provide spectators with plenty of action throughout the day.
In the Cadet Nine class Mason Seabourne and Myles Campbell will go head to head. With both drivers relatively new to the kart racing scene the battle will be on to see who can stake an early claim for the title.
In KA3 Senior Light Anthony Rowsell will be looking for his fourth win in succession after a dominant performance in round three saw him qualify in pole position and go on to record five wins from as many starts.Trying to ensure Rowsell doesn’t have it all his own way will be Anthony English and Matthew Cobden both of who have the speed to take it to Rowsell. Looking to make it a four way battle up the front of the field will be Sam Hall who showed impressive speed to qualify top three last time out.
Mount Isa Go Kart public relations officer, Thomas Glasson, said the KA3 Senior Heavy Class won’t be short on action either with Trevor Hollyman and Mark Ezzy again set to battle it out for top spot.
“After taking win last time out Hollyman will be looking to build on the momentum and consolidate his position on the top of the point’s table,” he said.
“After suffering engine trouble last time out Adam Chirio will be one to watch out for this weekend along with Toby Seabourne who has impressed all with the speed he has shown in recent rounds.
“After an epic battle last time out Scott Geary and Kevin Rowsell are once again set to go head to head in the TAG 125 Heavy class. After swapping positions multiple times throughout the day Geary eventually prevailed beating Rowsell to the line and will be hoping to build on that momentum this weekend as he looks to trim Rowsell’s lead in the points standings.
“Shaune English looms as a potential dark horse in the event and will be looking to get amongst the action up front.”
Racing kicks off from 4.30pm on Saturday at Lagoon Park Raceway on Bendall Drive. Grandstand seating and canteen facilities are available while closed in footwear will allow entry into the pit area.
