Mr Pitt is encouraging local businesses to apply for funding under the $100 million ‘Back to Work’ program.
“I’ll be hosting a Market Led Proposals forum where I’m expecting dozens of local companies to come forward with innovative ideas to deliver new services,” Mr Pitt said. “I want to see those good ideas become reality to make it simpler for the private sector to propose solutions to infrastructure and social challenges.”
Mr Pitt said he would discuss the $77.9m Rural Assistance Drought Package.
“That includes $28.2m for the Drought Relief Assistance Scheme offering rural financial counselling services and drought relief to impacted producers, $3.7m for wild dog control and $3.5m for the Queensland Climate Risk and Drought Resilience program,” he said.
“We will also abolish stamp duty charged on inter-generational farm transfers to keeping families on their properties.”
“We will offer grants of up to $2500 for farmers to seek financial advice, access succession planning services or take out multi-peril crop insurance.
“We’ve announced $96.5 million over five years to improve the transportation of livestock, mining equipment and general freight including the development of the Hann Highway between Hughenden and The Lynd.”
