Daley was livid with referees Gerard Sutton and Ben Cummins in game one, calling on Archer to remove the pair for the must-win game two at Suncorp Stadium.

After agreeing to meet with Daley, Archer offered to do so with Queensland coach Kevin Walters, however the Maroons knocked back the invitation.

While Daley's plea fell on deaf ears, the Blues coach is keen to get an understanding of how the referees will officiate the match and gain clarification over issues he had from game one.

"Just clarification," Daley said when asked about the purpose of the request.

"We just want to know what's going to happen around the ruck and the 10 metres."

Archer has defended the referees and had no hesitation reappointing Cummins and Sutton for the biggest game of the year.

"I thought the referees handled game one really well and my expectation is that they remain diligent in the policing of the 10 metres and ruck area in this match," Archer said.

"If that requires them to penalise for those types of infringements, then they should, which will allow an opportunity for the teams to play the style of football they choose."

NSW have picked a big and powerful forward pack with plenty of skill and footwork out wide, however they struggled to capitalise on their strengths in game one because of Queensland's experience in big games.

The Blues are hopeful dry conditions and a fast track will play into their hands, but Daley wouldn't allow himself to get caught up in suggestions he feared the game being allowed to flow.

"I don't know and I honestly don't care," he said.

"We'll enjoy an open game of footy. No stoppages, continuous footy. That's what we're hoping for. Hopefully we'll get that."

Blues skipper Paul Gallen insists his side aren't using referees as an excuse for their loss in game one.

"That's imperative. We have to take them out of the game," Gallen said of the officials.

"I know there's been a lot of hype about it all after what Laurie said at the press conference. But he's never come to us as a team and blamed the referees, or spoken about the referees at all as a team.

"We've never done it. We need to take them out of it, be on-side with them, get back with them."
