“Do you think upcoming rugby league players from Mount Isa, like Coen Hess will make it to play first grade?” a local asked.
Bowen answered the questions saying Hess has what it takes to make the NRL.
“He has been in the training system for a while now and he has been playing very well. Hess is going to make it to first grade I am sure,” Bowen said.
“I think he is a great player and we (Cowboys) don’t want to lose him, I think they (Cowboys) are signing him again next year.”
Bowen said although Hess was young he was a big unit and he would only get better.
This comes only four months after Johnathan Thurston named Hess the rookie North Queensland player he believed had a bright future in the NRL.
With some big named Cowboys players supporting his journey, we could see Hess with a first grade career sooner than later.
