The croc is believed to be 4.5 metres long and is one of two very large crocodiles residing in a very popular area for residential recreation. One of the crocodiles is becoming increasingly aggressive with multiple sightings near a popular swim channel and a local dog was taken two weeks ago. Mornington Shire Council offices have notified the EHP and Qld Parks and Wildlife Services and there is growing concern for community safety.
Council wants help to get the animals moved and says local consultation has also indicated crocodiles never used to be quite this prevalent in the area.
