If Cloke is dropped again in favour of the returning Darcy Moore, it could presage his omission from Collingwood's list in 2017.

With American recruit Mason Cox performing admirably, Moore will likely come in for either Cloke or Jesse White.

Given White has played every game since round seven, Cloke looks to be in the hot seat to be axed for the third time this season.

Cloke's manager, his father David, told Fairfax Media on Monday he was unsure about his son's future at Collingwood.

"I have no idea what's going to happen," he said. "He's got a contract for this year and a contract for next year – he'll play where he plays."

"Who knows?" Cloke replied when asked if he thought Travis would keep his spot in the team this week. "If you go on the weekend I'd say yes, but who knows what they're thinking."

Although he has another year on his contract, it would be inconceivable that Cloke would stay with the Pies if he wasn't in their best-22.

Former West Coast and Carlton great Chris Judd has floated that the Western Bulldogs should go for him, but that idea was hosed down by coach Luke Beveridge.

While Cloke's name is unlikely to have been mentioned at the club just yet, there has been external speculation that Fremantle would show interest.

With Matthew Pavlich certain to retire at the end of the season, Cloke would be a reasonable replacement and one who wouldn't come at too high a cost.

And with Claremont boy Jesse Hogan contracted at Melbourne until the end of 2017, a bold play to lure him home would appear to be at least 12 months away.

But the Dockers say they are committed to rebuilding their list and won't be pursuing Cloke.

They will back in young forward Matt Taberner and also look destined to secure homesick Cam McCarthy, who is keen to leave GWS.

Richmond have also been mentioned, but the Tigers already have Ty Vickery and Ben Griffiths as forwards to play alongside Jack Riewoldt.

Brisbane and Carlton are both in desperate need of a key forward, but trading for a 30-year-old Cloke seems unlikely.

Neither Port Adelaide nor Adelaide would appear to be in a position to offer Cloke a reprieve.

Josh Jenkins is about to re-sign a four-year deal with the Crows,  while Port Adelaide have committed to Charlie Dixon.

The same can be said for the Sydney sides. The Swans have Lance Franklin on a long-term deal and the Giants have a plethora of key forwards. Hawthorn have a history of getting players from other clubs and turning them into role players, but could Cloke operate in a fast, free-flowing Hawk forward line?

St Kilda is unlikely to look at Cloke at the end of the season, with Josh Bruce and Paddy McCartin looking like the future of the Saints' forward line, while Tim Membrey has played well in patches this season.

Geelong have their own powerhouse forward in Tom Hawkins and are committed to the development of Shane Kersten.

North Melbourne have key forwards coming out of their ears, and while Jarrad Waite and Drew Petrie are in their 30s, the Kangaroos also have Ben Brown, Majak Daw and Mason Wood.

Travis Cloke had 14 disposals and booted two goals in last Friday night's big win over Fremantle, giving him seven goals from six games this season.

David Cloke would not comment on whether he had been contacted by other clubs.
