Following on from last year’s inaugural Isa Street Festival, this year’s rodeo week event on Wednesday August 10 is set to be bigger and better.
A Mount Isa City Council event planned by the Isa Street Festival committee, the festival is supported by the Queensland Government Drought Support Package, MIETV, Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo, and business sponsors the Isa Hotel.
This year’s festival will be focused on free entertainment and activities, with former X Factor contestant Big T on the main stage, local entertainers, a free activity zone for children, street stalls and plenty of food and seating available.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch said the Isa Street Festival would be a chance for the community to enjoy the Rodeo atmosphere within the CBD, and soak up some free entertainment and activities.
“This family friendly event is one to celebrate all that we love about Mount Isa and celebrate together as a community,” Cr McCulloch said.

An opportunity for the city to tune up the Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo, families, residents and tourists will come together in preparation for the city’s premier event.
As the city prepares to showcase the biggest rodeo in the Southern Hemisphere, this is Mount Isa’s chance to highlight its camaraderie and community spirit.
The Isa Street Festival will host a variety of different stalls including multiple food stalls, sweets and treats, merchandise, local community and organisations stalls, bouncy castle, face-painting, bungee run, sticky wall, interactive street art and more.
Roving characters, competitions and giveaways, a chance to win the Mount Isa City Council $1000 cash lucky door prize, and a fireworks display will add to the excitement.
Local schools, sporting groups, and not-for- profit organisations are encouraged to host a stall and embrace the fundraising opportunity at this year’s festival.
Anyone who would like to hold a stall at the festival night should contact Council on (07) 4747 3200 or city@mountisa.qld.gov.au
