Until possibly the most horrendous advertisements in the history of time got their first run for the night on the Fox Footy telecast, that is.
You can't have missed these ads: helpless, screeching women doing idiotic things in cars and being rescued by men from a company that starts with Ultra and is so extremely out of Tune.
Here's one of the most recent (of many) complaints to the Advertising Board, whose members must be getting very sick of having to watch this rubbish on constant rotation month in, month out.
The ad in question was one in which the two women characters drive into a car wash with the roof open, and ruin their car battery.
(It could quite easily have been the one where their car stalls on a level crossing and they decide to scream rather than get out, or the one in which they almost drive over a cliff.)
"Ultra Tune consistently produces advertisements that invariably depict attractive young women as vacuous, stupid, and dim-witted.
"Presumably they believe these advertisements to be comical, but they are inherently sexist and demeaning to women."
Last week feels like a long time ago, it was one that forced some meaningful discussion about women's place in football and there are more important things to talk about than TV.
(There's one obvious exception here, though I should point out that I haven't got started on Game of Thrones yet. No spoilers, please.)
It never feels like a bad time to point out what complete and utter abominations these ads are, though, and to wonder why we must be subjected to them while enjoying one of the simple joys in life: footy.
All media companies depend on advertising dollars - Fairfax Media among them - but there is a balance to be struck between that unavoidable need and some social responsibility.
That applies to alcohol and gambling. It should also apply in this instance and to these ads, which were remarkably ticked off on by Commercials Advice in the first place.
The Ultra out of Tune campaign was launched during the tennis on Seven earlier this year and the company has spent a whole lot of money advertising across most, if not all of the commercial networks, in various timeslots.
It's not just Fox that should think seriously about handing it straight back.
But women love football, watch it live, take their kids, make up a large percentage of their clubs' membership tallies and spend a lot of money on the game.
Presumably they make up a significant portion of the TV viewership of any given game, too.
From March to October my TV stays stuck on Fox Footy for 90 per cent of the time and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to relax and watch a game without being forced to endure these crappy ads.
It is pay TV, after all, and not even someone with Cyril Rioli's reflexes would be able to reach for the remote and mute this rubbish in time to avoid it.
How excellent would it be if Fox turned around and said that in the interests of the Fox Footy community they would tell Ultra out of Tune to keep their money, and look for it elsewhere?
It would be a powerful message, particularly in the week after they gave host Sarah Jones a long overdue opportunity on game night.
I'm guessing Ultra out of Tune thinks their ads are very funny indeed, and believes the "any publicity is good publicity" theory.
Point one: I would have a go at fixing my car with kitchen utensils before handing them any of my money.
Point two: They're not even approaching funny.
