The lawyer representing Semi Radradra's former partner says he is "disappointed" the NRL is yet to reach out to check on the welfare of his client.

Radradra was charged with three counts of domestic violence against Perina Ting in 2014 and 2015 when he arrived at Sydney airport on Friday night. The Dally M winger of the year was taken into custody and then released on conditional bail after returning from his native Fiji. Parramatta officials will allow Radradra to line up against Cronulla on Saturday night.

Ting, living in a house provided by the Eels, has engaged Elias Tabchouri, the lawyer who acted on behalf of Sydney balcony killer Simon Gittany, to handle the matter. Tabchouri said the NRL had yet to make contact with him or Ting since the matter became public on Wednesday.

"No they have not," he said. "I am surprised and at this stage a little disappointed that, considering the matter is now some days old, no contact has been made. I hope this is merely an oversight on their behalf.

"Our position continues to be that her welfare ... is crucial."

It's understood Parramatta's welfare officer, Matt Francis, has been liaising with Ting over her personal situation for about six months. Club welfare officers are funded by, and regularly report to, the NRL.

Debate is raging over whether Radradra should be free to play against the Sharks. The NRL's general policy is to allow its players the presumption of innocence while police investigate such matters, a precedent set in the Shaun Kenny-Dowall case. The Roosters star was charged but subsequently cleared of domestic violence in court.

"Any decision for Semi to play must be made by the club or the NRL when they are fully informed," Tabchouri said.

"If they are fully informed of the allegations that have been made by his partner and they believe that those allegations are of such a nature that he should be allowed to play, that's a matter where once those allegations gain the light of day, they will be answerable for.

"They will have to answer up to that decision."

Questions have been raised about why it has taken Ting so long to alert police after the event. Tabchouri said he had only recently been engaged by Ting and immediately advised her to report the alleged incidents to authorities.

"My observation is that she is here alone, she has no one else, she relies on him financially," Tabchouri said. "What is she supposed to do? She has a child.

"It's a situation many victims of domestic violence find themselves in. Her position to a degree is worse because she's in a foreign country and he is a high-profile player."

He added: "She trusts in the legal system in Australia and trusts that ultimately justice will be done."
