Harvey was named "Shinboner of the Era" on a night the club celebrated the 20th anniversary of the 1996 premiership.
Harvey, 38, is three games shy of Michael Tuck's AFL/VFL record of 426 games and, all going well, will break the Hawthorn great's record on July 30 in the round-19 match against St Kilda.
The diminutive goalsneak has played every game in what is his 21st season at the elite level, kicking 25 goals and averaging just under 20 disposals.
Harvey was in fine company as the Roos lauded several other favourite sons on Friday night.
As expected, former captain Anthony Stevens was elevated to legend status, only days after his reconciliation with Wayne Carey following their long-standing feud.
Stevens played 292 games over 16 years at the club and was twice best and fairest. The dual premiership player led the club for the last three years of his career from 2002 to 2004.
Jim Krakouer, Wayne Schwass and Barry Cable were also inducted into the hall of fame.
Krakouer bagged 229 goals in 134 games between 1982 and 1989, forging a celebrated partnership with brother Phil.
Schwass, a member of the '96 premiership side, played 184 games, twice winning the Syd Barker Medal.
Cable, a legend of the Australian Football Hall of Fame, played 115 games for the Kangaroos, and was a part of the 1975 and `77 premiership teams. He later coached the Roos from 1981 to 1984, making him the most recent Indigenous AFL/VFL senior coach.
