A man has been charged over an incident in which his car collided with another vehicle head-on at Southport on Wednesday.

Police allege the man was driving his car down the wrong side of the Gold Coast Highway at Southport at speed when he lost control and collided with a vehicle travelling in the other direction.
He suffered minor injuries in the crash, along with the female driver of the other vehicle and two children who were also in the car.
They were all transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
On Wednesday afternoon, police charged the man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving with drugs present in the blood and unlicensed driving.
He will face Southport Magistrates Court on August 3.
