Tributes have flowed from all corners of the Gold Coast for a 15-year-old boy who died after eating calamari he cooked in a school home economics class.

Placed in an induced coma after an allergic reaction last Monday, Breyton Horomona died on Saturday in hospital, prompting an outpouring of support from friends, family and sporting clubs.
The "heartbreaking" loss saw the Helensvale State High School student remembered as a keen basketballer and rugby league player, with a close group of friends.
More than $30,000 had been raised for his family by Tuesday morning.
Two separate rugby league clubs paid tribute to Breyton on the weekend and his "shocked and saddened" high school paid tribute in assembly on Monday.
"Our thoughts and sincere sympathies go out to his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time," principal Mark Blackshaw said.
"Support is being provided to students and staff, and our guidance counsellors will continue to provide personalised and comprehensive support."
According to News Corp, Breyton ate some of the calamari during the lunch break last Monday, before saying "I think I'm allergic to this".
The school confirmed the student had "fallen ill" but would not comment on whether the calamari was the cause.
"He alerted a staff member outside a staff room that he was feeling unwell," Mr Blackshaw said.
"Teachers immediately contacted emergency services and provided first aid under the direct instruction of emergency personnel, including administering multiple EpiPens.
"Breyton had no record of any allergies and his family were unaware that he was allergic to any type of food."
The Gold Coast basketball community sent love and condolences to the Horomona family on Monday following Breyton's passing.
Nerang Roosters Junior Rugby League Football Club coaching director Tom Gerrard said the entire club shared the family's sadness and prayers.
A Gofundme campaign for the family of the "beautiful selfless man" had almost 400 donors on Tuesday.
