The move will see the company slash 500 jobs for its “support office and supply chain”.
Mount Isa and Cloncurry are two of its 960 supermarkets across Australia and New Zealand which serve 18 million customers per week.
As well as the 21 that are closing a further 20 “underperforming” stores across Australia could also follow.
