Having already suffered three concussions this year, Sinclair collided with North Melbourne's Jed Anderson during the first quarter of the Magpies' loss to the Kangaroos on Friday night.

Collingwood director of football Neil Balme said the Pies would tread carefully with Sinclair despite positive signs since the incident.

"He's actually come up pretty well. He had to go to hospital for precautionary reasons after the game, but he's now feeling pretty well," Balme told the club's website on Monday.

"He's at training today and he's actually going quite well, but obviously we're very concerned about the whole concussion thing, he's now had three or four this year so it's not an easy thing to overcome."

Balme said the Pies would probably prevent Sinclair from taking on the Eagles.

"He may be feeling well enough to play on the weekend, but I think it's pretty unlikely that we would ask him to do that. It's really a matter of how he's feeling and we need to go through a range of things to make sure that he can play safely. We'll miss him as a player, he's been very important to us but obviously the concussion thing is more important than just a game or two.

"We'll just see how he goes."

Meanwhile Jarrod Witts (finger) is unlikely to return in the VFL this week.

Richmond say they will monitor injury-prone defender Dylan Grimes through the week after Grimes suffered hamstring tightness in the heavy loss to Hawthorn on Sunday.

Carlton are likely to provide an update on Charlie Curnow (knee) on Tuesday. The youngster came off early in Saturday's loss to Sydney.
