Travellers, Geoff and Kayleen Simpson, from Moruya in New South Wales enjoyed relaxing with many other tourists along the Georgina River in Camooweal.
Travelling around Australia, the Simpsons stopped in Camooweal on Tuesday to take a break from driving.
“After recent rain it is very beautiful down along the river. It was a prime spot for us to have a day relaxing,” Mr Simpson said.
The Simpsons were also visiting tourist attractions around the area including Camooweal Caves National Park and Drovers Camp before moving onto Mount Isa.
This is the second year that the Simpsons have travelled around Australia but the first time they have travelled in a caravan.
“We travelled down to South Australia, over to Western Australia, up the coast, across through the Northern Territory and now in Camooweal,” Mr Simpson said.
“We did this same trip four years ago when we rode around Australia on motorbikes which gave us the bug and we thought we would upgrade and bought the van and a new car and hit the road.
“We love spending time in the outback. It is all new to us as we don’t see it very often and it is a very different lifestyle to what we are use to.”
The Simpsons are making their way to Birdsville for the September races before heading back home and visiting family.
