Two winners were chosen this week, with each receiving a three day family pass to the rodeo courtesy of Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo, and a $300 art pack for their school.
The primary school winner Brianna Hatherell, 9, of Barkly State School said she was excited to learn of her win and said her artwork on the banner “looks very good”.
Senior school winner, Tara Gaven, 14, from Good Shepherd Catholic College said she recently moved to Mount Isa from South Australia.
Tara said she entered the competition so that she could learn more about rodeo and connect with her new community.
Mount Isa Mayor Joyce McCulloch said she was thrilled with the outcome of the rodeo banner competition and hoped to involve more community groups and schools in future Council projects.
