The Swans lost all three games at Domain Stadium in Subiaco last year, including a qualifying final, and have not tasted success against the Dockers there since 2010.

On that day Dan Hannebery made 38 touches and Ben McGlynn, who returns this week after spending time in the NEAFL, kicked three goals.

The crowd at Domain Stadium is renowned for being particularly vociferous and their booing of Adam Goodes and Lewis Jetta last year was a major blemish on the sport.

Cunningham is all too aware of the reception Sydney will face when they travel to Western Australia, but the midfielder is not worried about what might come their way.

"You take the advice from the experienced guys who have played in front of hostile crowds," Cunningham said. "They speak about how if you do get the wins they are special. It'll be a good experience for not only just the younger guys but everyone again if we can go out there and play our sort of footy and get the win in those hostile environments over there. When they [Fremantle] kick a couple of goals it really gives them an extra gear when they're on the field."

Cunningham missed four games against Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs, Geelong and Hawthorn but returned against Carlton in Sydney's 74-68 win on Saturday at the SCG.

The 22-year-old was given a few weeks to sharpen up in the NEAFL and is now happy with his form.

"I'm just grateful to be around the footy club and I try not to change my attitude whether I'm playing seniors or reserves. I try to be quite happy and go about helping everyone out," Cunningham said. "I thought I played all right last week coming back, playing down back for the team and hopefully I can continue to build on some form and stay in the team for the rest of the year."

Meanwhile Jordan Foote has been dropped from the Swans match-day 22 a week after his debut. As expected, co-captain Jarrad McVeigh, who has recovered from a groin injury that kept him out of the Blues game, will replace Foote.

"Jarrad's a quality player and has been for a number of years so if he can get through and play on Sunday, it'd be great," Cunningham said. "We'd love to have him out there."

Cunningham reiterated coach John Longmire's belief that even though the Swans will send over one of their most inexperienced sides, they can chalk up their 13th win of the year and break free of a cluster of five other teams on 48 points.

"There's a lot of guys who are putting up their hand to come in and play a role and that's a good sign for the club," Cunningham said. "What we do well is bring that contested brand and that pressure sort of game and play the game in our forward half. Hopefully, we can get the four points."
