The station has positions available for 13 more members, with only 10 current auxiliary members.
Auxiliary member Jason Fevola said he joined up as soon as he moved to Mount Isa and said it's a great way to become involved in the community.
"My goal is to eventually become a permanent firefighter so I'm working towards that, and the skills I'm learning now will help my development," Mr Fevola said.
"I've made a lot of mates from within the fire brigade, and it's a good way to get involved with the community."
"If you like to challenge yourself and be taken out of your comfort zone, it's a good place to be."
Unlike other stations, Mount Isa has two training times.
Auxiliary members can choose either Wednesday evening or Saturday morning to attend.
The times are in place to help cater for prospective members on mining shift work.
Auxiliary members have the opportunity to be trained in road crash recovery, swift water rescue, breathing apparatus use and vertical rescue.
Gordon Graham, a 20-year veteran of the auxiliary brigade, said it was a great opportunity to develop life skills, challenge yourself and become an integral part of the community.
"The courses are fantastic, and you get paid for every hour that you are involved with the service," Mr Graham said
