But Lyon admits time is rapidly running out for a recall, in the closing stages of a horror season, for him and other loyal Dockers servants to show their potential to stay at Fremantle - or even attract interest from rival AFL clubs.

Morabito has endured three knee reconstructions as well as associated soft tissue leg troubles over six years since a stunning debut season in 2010 ahead of his first knee injury setback.

Morabito, 24, is among up to a dozen Dockers on notice for their playing futures as Lyon heavily scrutinises the entire playing list ahead of October trading and the November national draft.

He has spent the past month at Peel lifting his 2016 season-tally to 11 games, after missing all of last year with another reconstruction.

He turned in an impressive 26-possession performance with Fremantle alignment team Peel Thunder in last Saturday's seven-goal win over East Perth in another reminder of his overall class.

Morabito's duties for the majority of his WAFL commitments this season have been as a sweeping half-back running his possessions through the middle of the ground into attack.

It's a role he could potentially play in Dockers appointments to conclude a horrendous 2016 home-and-away schedule, against a heavy scoring Adelaide, Greater Western Sydney or Western Bulldogs if Lyon was to turn to the popular Morabito.

Lyon revealed that list assessment is constant and the luckless number four draft pick from 2009 remains a candidate for selection after recent performances at Peel.

Anticipation is rising on just which Dockers, who could be moved on, will be offered farewell performances alongside superstar Matthew Pavlich in his last appearance at the end of this month.

Dockers management is bracing for what is expected to be an emotion-charged last home-and-away clash of the season against finals bound Western Bulldogs in Perth, to close the AFL season on Sunday August 28.

"We're making list management decisions and it's not locked in, we're working through that," Lyon said.

"We would like to do it if [we have] the opportunity, but we don't want to throw them in when we're not giving them the best opportunity to show and succeed in the real sense.

"There's no doubt Anthony is feeling that closing in on him.

"We would like to see him play."

Lyon reflected on Morabito's last AFL return during July in 2014 in which he lasted just three games, two of those as substitute before being sent back to the WAFL for the rest of the season.

The Dockers boss considered throwing Morabito back into AFL hurly-burly may have been premature with such raging hype around the popular midfielder.

"We played him last time, almost before he was ready, to give him that opportunity a couple of years ago" Lyon said.

"He's had three reco's, so it's six years of probably 20 games of football.

"If he could build a little bit more, we'd look at [call-up] it."

Lyon has claims from emerging on-baller Connor Blakely, utility Matt deBoer and young forward Josh Deluca for call-ups to play against Adelaide in Perth on Sunday, after top performances at Peel, as well as Cameron Sutcliffe who was held over as emergency for the derby.

Key defender Michael Johnson continues through closing stages of his recovery program from surgery to his hamstring tendon in his knee at the end of April.

Johnson, 31, is likely to make his initial playing comeback through Peel with time running out for a return to the Dockers line-up.

Fremantle have a potential horror road-trip to imposing Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium in round 22, ahead of the last engagement of the season when Pavlich bids farewell after 17 seasons.
