It had been widely reported that giant ruckman Aaron Sandilands had lost a significant amount of weight in the lead-up to his comeback against West Coast two weeks ago, ostensibly a by-product of a serious rib and lung injuries that kept him out of action for the best part of fourth months and prevented him doing his regular amount of gym work.

A video featured on the Dockers' website on August 5 seemed to show shocking weight loss from Sandilands ahead of his return to action against Eagles big man Nic Naitanui.

But if a 120-kilogram AFL player looks too skinny to be true then he probably is and in  a new video uploaded to the Dockers website on Friday titled "Sandi gets his revenge", Ibbotson and Mzungu apologised to Sandilands, coming clean about the photoshop work.

There was no word on whether the pair would say sorry to WAtoday, after we took the bait and ran with the Honey, I Shrunk The Sandi line.

"To think that people did buy into that Gaz is disappointing but we've got to take some responsibly for it too," said Mzungu.

In our defence, the timing of the joke came a day after the media questioned coach Ross Lyon about Sandilands' trimmer figure and following news West Coast Eagle ruckman Nic Naitinui, who spent a similar stint on the sidelines, had dropped three kilograms while injured.

But after seeing the Photoshopped photo side-by-side with the original, we can't help but feel a little silly for having fallen for the joke, or ever doubting the strength of the 211-centimetre monster.

Given how Sandilands stitched up Ibbotson and Mzungu in the second video following the mishap (kidding! We actually managed to spot that joke!), we might just steer clear of press conferences with the big man for awhile.
