However conservationists still question its impact on big populations of eastern grey kangaroos in the immediate area.
Sunshine Coast Environment Council holds concerns for kangaroos as some sections of grasslands were cleared.
"We are still concerned because of the increasing encroachment within those grasslands and the woodlands around there," SCEC spokeswoman Narelle McCarthy said on Tuesday.
"The bottom line is that they are losing habitat and they are becoming more and more isolated and they are not able to have that connectivity across the landscape.
"Those populations are becoming increasingly pushed out because they can only go so far, with the highway and the other constraints."
The SCEC was told in November 2015 of "poor fencing along the Mooloolah River National Park" and the high risk of kangaroos being killed as they tried to cross Claymore Road.
The huge development which has been in the planning stages for five years is at Palmview, on the Bruce Highway, just inland from Caloundra.
The "continued decline of the eastern grey kangaroo population in the Sippy Downs/Palmview" area was one of five key issues considered by Sunshine Coast Council and the state government before the project was finally approved in April 2016.
"It should be noted that, the Structure Plan requires the rehabilitation and revegetation of a minimum of 483.4 hectares of land for ecological purposes, some of which is specifically required to be managed as grassland as grazing habitat for macropods," the planning documents show.
The master-planned residential development concept on 380 hectares of land within the huge land parcel was originally put together by Investa Land, now known as the AVID Property Group.
The concept was a joint venture between Investa Land, the Sunshine Coast council, Unity Water and two private land developers and attracted 155 submissions from landowners, families and conservation groups.
Most of those submissions - 133 of the 155 submissions - requested the links from Palmview residents that their access to the Bruce Highway be maintained using a western corridor road.
The Sunshine Coast Council in 2015 agreed to provide a share of the money for the bridge over Sippy Creek into the residential development and the road connections as part of the project.
The infrastructure agreement signed as part of the development lays out the timetable of works and the obligations for the various parts of the project.
The neighbourhood will include primary and secondary schools, community parks, an aquatic centre and library and a district shopping centre. With easy access to both the Bruce Highway and Sunshine Motorway it will provide convenient transport connections.
The project was fully evaluated by the Sunshine Coast Council at a special meeting on November 23, 2015.
The council requested changes to allow for future expansion of the Bruce Highway, for "noise suppression" techniques to be included in the planning design and for sensitive environmental land to be protected in the development.
On March 2, 2016, Local Government Minister Jackie Trad wrote back to Sunshine Coast Council and agreed to let the project proceed with these conditions in place.
Sunshine Coast mayor Mark Jamieson and AVID Property's senior representatives, chief executive Cameron Holt and general manager Bruce Harper, will be at Wednesday's launch.
