Tully originally planned to give the horse a spell post-race, but is now weighing up future options for the sprinter.

The son of Sequalo scored a dominant 1.8 length victory, with Tully now undediced on whether to give a horse in such good form a break.

"This was supposed to be his last start but I'm not so sure now," he said.

"We will just have to wait and see what happens I guess."

It was the four-year-old's second win from four starts in the North West.

Whispering Death jumped as the $3 second favourite from barrier five in the six-horse field, with leading jockey Dan Ballard steering the galloper to victory over outside I'm Hot.

The $1.80 race favourite Emila, prepared by Mount Isa trainer Jay Morris, finished in third place.

Ballard controlled the race aboard Whispering Death, leading for the majority of the 1000m event.

Tully admitted that his horse enjoyed racing at the track and confessed to being surprised at the margin of the victory.

"He got third here the other week and I knew that if he got into the lead early and held his own, he would do alright," he said.

"It all depended on whether other horses would get the jump on him but he did a really good job."

Ballard, who rode his first of two winners for the day said Whispering Death will be around for a while yet.

"You've definitely not seen the last of him, that's for sure." he said.

In the day's other results the Rodney Sue San-ridden Lithos scored a narrow victory in the Maiden Plate, winning by half-a-length over the Denise Ballard-trained favourite After Five.

Ballard recorded victory in the Open Handicap, with the star of her stable Chemin De Marc winning by almost three lengths over the Grant Wiles-trained Left Behind.

In the Class 1 Handicap, Whetstone triumphed by 3.3 lengths ahead of the Steven Royes-trained Miatoko.

Tullyscored a training double with victory in the Benchmark 70 handicap with Won a Heart ($2.60 favourite) winning by 3.5 lengths over the Morris-trained Doomed Affair.
