And the 20-year-old was embracing the hype that's surrounding the high-flying Raiders, who are bound for their first NRL finals campaign since 2012 and are just one win away from securing a top-four spot.

Lee will join the Bulldogs to get an opportunity to play in the centres, where he's behind Raiders captain Jarrod Croker and Joey Leilua in the pecking order.

He's been filling in on the left wing while Edrick Lee has been out injured, with his cousin out with a calf injury.

But Lee wasn't looking ahead to his time at Belmore yet – he's got unfinished business in Canberra first.

He said his sole focus was on helping the Raiders whenever coach Ricky Stuart calls on him and the young outside back was hoping that would be on the highest note possible by the end of the season.

Lee's been named on the wing to face the Parramatta Eels at Canberra Stadium on Sunday, but Edrick was initially listed to return from his calf injury either this round or next.

"It'd be good going on to a new club if you have a good season ending, going off on a high to the next pre-season," he said.

"It's something I've been thinking about in the back of my head, but as you know we've got to take it game by game and not get carried away."

Lee is close to Edrick and the pair spend a lot of time together away from rugby league, having both come down from Queensland to join the Raiders.

Lee said there wasn't any awkwardness between them even though they're both vying for the spot in Stuart's XIII.

"I think he'll be right, he's just trying to be cautious with himself, at this time of the year you don't want to be getting those bad niggles and trying to have as much confidence as you can going into the back end of the season," Lee said.

"I'm sure when he's right we'll see what they do, but I'm happy for whatever – I'm just trying to play my best footy for the team and for myself."

The Raiders drew their biggest home crowd in four years, 15,707, for their 22-8 victory over the Melbourne Storm on Monday night and Stuart and Croker have called for more than 20,000 fans to pack into Canberra Stadium for their final home game of the season.

Their bandwagon is growing as they look set to finish in the top four for the first time since 2003.

They're the best attacking team in the NRL, averaging 27 points per game, and have become miserly in defence.

It's sent hopes soaring among Raiders fans in the lead-up to the finals.

Rather than try to suppress that hype, Lee was embracing it.

"All the boys take that hype going into training, knowing that we've got to train well and prepare well because the last couple of weeks the team's been doing that really well," he said.

"The whole year everyone's been preparing and training well and I think that's what's carrying on to the footy field, that hype, going into the game feeling confident knowing that the only team that could beat us is ourselves."
