But there is a serious side to this “milk run” undertaken by motorcyclists from Brisbane to Brisbane via Mount Isa, Karumba and Cooktown.
Charles from Mackay is with 35 other ladies and gentlemen on their bikes raising funds and awareness for depression and suicide prevention.
“We’re raising money for two major beneficiaries, one is Lifeline Australia for their youth hotline and the other is Mental Health First Aid Australia for training courses online how to recognise mental illnesses and supporting them until they can get professional help,” fellow rider Dave Schaeffer said.
The North West Star caught up with the riders on their rest day in Mount Isa.
“The Irish Club looked after us, lovely hospitality and good food,” Charles said.
The riders had several community engagements including at Headspace, Central State School and Malouf Holden.
