The Bruce Highway is all but at a standstill southbound after a dramatic three-car crash north of Caboolture.
Paramedics were treating a man and a woman at Elimbah after the vehicles collided about 5.40am but the extent of their injuries wasn't immediately cleared.
Aerial photos of the scene showed debris scattered widely along the road as traffic banked up past Steve Irwin Way to the north.
A police spokesman said the highway was blocked southbound but cars could be seen slowly edging past the crash site about 6.30am.
