Tigers now go forward to Saturday’s grand final for a rematch with Lake Nash after their game was abandoned last week.
The Tigers-Rovers game started with a minute’s silence to pay respect to the Lake Nash player who died as a result of a seizure in that game.
The game had a real finals feel to it and underdogs Rovers were determined to make a game of it.
In a tight first quarter Tigers led 2.6 to 1.5 and it was still tight at the major break 4.11 (35) to 2.9 (21).
In the premiership third quarter, Tigers stepped to score four goals straight to lead by 25 points.
But still Rovers kept coming urged on by their supporters kicking late goals.
They just fell short in the end by 13 points, to the relief of Tigers fans.
Final score Tigers 9.12 (66), Rovers AFC 7.11 (53).
First bounce at this Saturday’s Tigers v Young Guns grand final is at 1pm.
