Outback Obstacles event director, Daniel Gold, said the best part about the challenge was the comradery between friends and people who had never met before.
“A lot of the obstacles required assistance from other people and competitors had to band together to get through the challenges,” Mr Gold said.
“There was such a wide range of people. You had fitness fanatics to a team like the ‘Muddy Mummas’ who were all ladies who had entered in the competition for fun with friends. It attracted a whole lot of different people to participate in this event and it was great to see every one cross the finish line.”
Mr Gold said this was the first regional obstacle event he had organised.
“I have been involved in many events to do with outdoor fitness and sports and obstacle courses and I have found that the major cities are quite content with their events. But the regional areas like Mount Isa don’t get to experience such events. So I sat down with my course designer and asked him to create a course to take to regional areas,” Mr Gold said.
“We have been talking to the team at Mount Isa Entertainment Tourism Venues and we are hoping to return in October next year.
“Now having come out this year and seen the amazing venue, we now know how to make it bigger and better next year.”
