The Mount Isa Amateur Netball Association held their senior grand finals at Wellington Park on Saturday with five divisions battling it out.

Division one saw Spinifex Stikers take on Matariki A. Spinifex were off to an early lead with goal shooter Latasha Venz and goal attack Ann-Maree Giles sealing 18 goals in the first half. Matariki were not far behind with goal shooter Courtenay Tohovaka and goal attack Waireta Emery sealing 14 goals.
Matariki had more possession in the second half trying to take advantage of their shooting opportunities. The final minutes of the game were a nail biter with Matariki sealing 17 goals, Spinifex just held them out sealing 15 goals. The final score was Spinifex Strikers 33, Matariki A 31.
Division two saw a close match between Vixens Foxes and Tigers. Vixens was off to an early lead, with goal shooter Ereka Bexfield and goal attack Yvette Wehlow sealing an accumulated 13 goals in the first half. Tigers were not far behind with goal shooter Lesleigh Watling and goal attack Morgan Buchanan sealing nine goals.
Vixens fought hard in the second half with successful plays, shooting and capitalising off Tigers mistakes. Tigers sealed another 12 goals, while Vixens scored 13. The final score was Vixens Foxes 26, Tigers 21.
Division three saw one point separate Vixen’s Rubys and Tigers Too. Vixens were off to a quick start with goal shooter Amanda Wellington and goal attack Hayleigh Campbell putting 12 points on the board. Tigers shooter Jessica Lukac and goal attack Jessica Nicol sealed 10 goals.
Tigers made a comeback in the final minutes of the game sealing another eight goals over Vixens five. The final score was Tigers 18, Vixen’s Rubys 17.
Division four saw three point separate 2PH Redbacks and Vixen’s Diamonds. 2PH sealed 16 points early in the first half from goal shooter Lenore Krutzfeldt and goal attack Brooke Wessels. Vixens shooter Melissa Pierce and goal attack Brooke Herreygers sealed 10 goals.
Vixens attempted to push through 2PH defense in the second half but 2PH held them out for a three point lead to seal the grand final. The final score was 2PH Redbacks 27, Vixens Diamonds 24.
Division five saw two points separate 2PH Ultimates and Matariki Stars. The first half saw 2PH take an early lead with goal attack Yvette Silayo and goal shooter Kyra Krutzfeldt sealing 11 goals. Matariki fell behind by two with goal shooter Charlize Potini and goal attack Mikaela Staunton shooting nine goals.
The second half of the game was evenly contested both teams sealing 13 points. The final score was 2PH Ultimates 24, Matariki Stars 22.
