In the 1000 metre Class B Handicap Ballard rode winner By Emteeare, trained by Tanya Parry. Ballard came out ahead 2.3 lengths ahead of his father Keith, who rode Akheilos into second place. Parry trained Akheilos.
She also trained Alamein Avenue, the winner of the Maiden Plate, ridden by Terrence Hill. The Benchmark 60 Handicap was won by Head Dragon, trained by Shryn Gabriel-Royes and jockeyed by Raymond Hancock.
