Police alleged the man operated several businesses that cold-called people to falsely invest in the share market, binary trading, sports betting, property share investment and eBay businesses.

Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Inspector Mark Thompson said the businesses appeared legitimate with "sophisticated" websites, brochures, contracts and social media sites.

A 29-year-old Paradise Point man has been charged with two counts of fraud. He was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court later on Monday.
