Lycett will have extensive surgery to his damaged left knee he carried through the last month of the season with a torn posterior cruciate ligament, almost ruptured muscle tendon and significant cartilage tearing.

He is certain to miss a large chunk of summer training while in rehabilitation that his surgeons and therapists hope can be completed within six months.

Lycett, 23, is not guaranteed to be fully recovered in time for the start of the 2017 season in March.It casts further gloom over Eagles lead ruck stocks, with star big man Nic Naitanui to miss an entire year in his recovery from a full knee reconstruction he had last month.

Priddis joins ace forward Josh Kennedy in having surprise end-of-surgery with the big goal-sneak in recovery from a hernia operation.

Priddis and Kennedy both carried their nagging injuries for several weeks as West Coast rounded out a stirring end to home-and-away qualifying engagements with four straight wins to snatch a home final before being bundled out of the premiership race last week by a hungry Western Bulldogs outfit.

Priddis, 31, will have an operation on Friday to relieve nagging pain in his back and legs.

"It's pretty minor surgery," he said.

The 2014 Brownlow medallist hopes to be back running within six weeks.

He expects to be ready to join in full pre-season training in mid-November.

The hefty possession-winning follower disclosed his appointment with surgeons on his weekly television interview on Channel Nine.

"I've gotback surgery at the end of the week," he said.

"But it's nothing that's going to slow me up come day one of pre-season.

"It's something that was no worries game-day and I was able to monitor my training loads throughout the week."

Priddis was his side's second biggest ball-winner this year with an average of 27 possessions an outing and also slapped on the most tackles in the league with 188 from his 22 games.
