David Bogg's 15-hour wait for Brisbane's first iPhone 7

You might have watched the final episode of The Bachelor to find out who Richie chooses from the sushi train of ladies presented to him.

You might have popped on the wireless and had a relaxing evening listening to Michael Buble's dulcet tones on SmoothFM, or maybe you braved the unpredictable weather and headed to the Speigletent to see Meow Meow perform at Brisbane Festival.

David Bogg did none of these things.

David Bogg spent his evening camped outside the Telstra Store in Queen Street Mall ensuring he was at the front of the line to get his hands on the new iPhone 7 which will have become available to the public at 8am on Friday.

Mr Bogg, a 26-year-old finance worker from Caboolture who works in the city, has been at the front of the line for new iPhones the past five years and hopes to make it 10.

"It's something I can do that's a bit of fun," he said.

"It's a good time."

The committed iPhone fan, who has tried Android devices but found them to be inferior, chooses to make his overnight vigil outside the Telstra store rather than the Apple store because Telstra makes it more of an event.

"Telstra is pretty good at providing a good environment," he said.

"They are good at putting together some form of event, which is engaging."

We checked whether Telstra had offered Mr Bogg any incentives to spend the night on the tiles outside the store, but a spokesman assured us they only gave him a beanbag to make his stay more comfortable.

So how else does he while away his 15-hour stint in the mall when all the shops are closed?

"I'm going to watch a lot of Netflix," he said.

On his iPad, of course.

On Friday morning, Mr Bogg will be among the first in the country to take possession of Apple's new flagship product which boasts a more powerful processor, slick design changes and a range of sexy colours, but it is the new camera that has Mr Bogg excited.

"The dual cameras and the way they have implemented the optical zoom is really exciting," he said.
