The service is free and available to residents living in northwest Queensland. People can be referred by their GP, allied health provider or self-refer.
People who are interested to attend can contact the NWCR team on 4745 4500.
NWCR is for people who want to improve walking, carrying out their daily activities and getting out and about in the community.
If you have had a Stroke or Brain injury, have Polio, Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s Disease, have had a fall or find it hard getting out and about or do the things that matter to you, then this is the service for you.
The service is run by a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, an Indigenous Rehabilitation Assistant and allied health university students.
NWCR is a collaboration between Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health, James Cook University, North West Hospital and Health Service, and North and West Remote Health.
