Rock legend Sting will take the stage at at this year's AFL Grand Final, the league announced on Friday night.

Sting, the former lead singer of The Police, will headline the game's pre-match entertainment alongside Australian outfits Vance Joy and The Living End.
The AFL announced the news on its social media pages during Friday night's semi-final between Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs.

"I'm thrilled to come to Australia to perform on the biggest stage of Australian sport" Sting said.
"I can't wait to play for you all on October 1, and I'll see you there."
The British rocker has won 16 Grammy awards.
Last year, music stars Bryan Adams, Ellie Goulding and Chris Isaak took centre stage, while Tom Jones and Ed Sheeran were the headline acts in 2014.
