MITS president Damian Sacco said the prop gun was stolen at about 2.30am on Saturday.
“They did major damage to the back door,” he said.
“Luckily they didn’t do any damage inside the building.”
Mount Isa Police Sergeant Cath Purcell said the two juveniles were dealt with under the provision of the Youth Justice Act.
The prop gun was stolen before closing night of the performance Murder Takes The Stage, which meant a different prop gun needed to be used.
Ironically, in the play Mr Sacco’s character used the prop gun to ‘threaten’ the character that was performed by the reporter.
