Suspended Gold Coast cop Chris Hurley and his partner have been charged over a police chase in which they allegedly ran a stolen car off the road before shooting at it.

Senior Constable Barry Wellington, 50, has also been charged over the May 17, 2015, chase, which both officers were allegedly ordered to abandon.
Senior Sergeant Hurley, 48, was stood down from regular duties last May while the incident was investigated.
On Wednesday, police announced both men had been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle in relation to the pursuit, in the Gold Coast suburb of Pacific Pines.
The suspects were said to have been responsible for a number of violent robbery offences.
Senior Constable Wellington was also charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm or other malicious acts.
Senior Sergeant Hurley is due to face the Southport Magistrates Court on September 29, with Senior Constable Wellington due in court on October 12.
Both officers have been suspended from duty.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, police announced a 53-year-old sergeant from the Community Contact Command had been charged with common assault over an off-duty incident, to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on October 31.
