The Mount Isa Royal Flying Doctor Service reported a break and enter at the Doctor Base on the Barkly Highway, Thursday September 22.
Duty Sergeant, Ross Kirkpatrick, said offenders broke in through the roof overnight and attempted to access medicines.
“This is a concern. If people take it thinking they know what they are doing they can do damage to themselves,” he said.
“The offenders also removed a safe from the premises. This would have weighed about 50kg, so it would take two people to shift it and a vehicle to remove it from the scene.”
He said there was no video surveillance.
Investigations are continuing.
If anyone has any information they are urged to contact Police Link or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 to report anonymously.
