Geelong forward Daniel Menzel may not play in the Cats' preliminary final clash with Sydney, according to reports.
The 25-year-old has already endured more than his fair share of bad luck in football, requiring four knee reconstructions before returning to AFL competition late last year.
Menzel strained his groin in Geelong's round 20 game against Essendon and reports suggest the injury has flared up again.
He was expected to appear in the Cats' preliminary final against the Swans at the MCG on Friday night, but there is now significant doubt about whether he will be well enough to play.
The winner of that match will face either Greater Western Sydney or the Western Bulldogs in next weeks' grand final.
Full teams will be announced at 6.25pm on Thursday.
