The Summer Sixes competition spans two months and the first round is to be held on October 8.
North West Queensland Soccer Zone president Jason Howard said it’s the first time the region’s soccer zone has held the six-a-side competition.
“We have got a different committee this year and we’re trying to keep people in the game.
“All the other zones do it,” Howard said.
The social event will have four divisions; mixed, men’s, women’s and juniors.
Players can nominate their own teams or sign-up individually.
Sign-up will be held between 4pm to 5pm on Saturday, October 1, at the soccer grounds.
Howard hopes for at least six teams a division.
Registration costs $15 a player plus $50 a team.
Games are scheduled for Saturday afternoons.
