The council announced last week it has appointed Michael Henderson to fill the Director of Works and Environmental Services position.
Mr Henderson replaces Peter Fitchat who left council in July.
He joins council on Monday, October 31, after finishing his current position for the Sunshine Coast Council.
Mayor Greg Campbell said the new council director has held senior engineering roles at Barcaldine, Ipswich, Caloundra, Maroochydore and the Sunshine Coast.
The Director of Corporate Services position has also been filled after the resignation of Lisa Caldwell in June. Joanne Morris was acting in the role but became permanent in August .
She was raised and educated in Weipa and Townsville, but has lived in Canberra nearly 10 years. “I wanted to move back to North Queensland, it’s home,” Ms Morris said.
