Terry Mehan was been appointed to the position on a six month secondment by Health Minister Cameron Dick after the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Board resigned following revelations the health service is facing a $80 million budget blowout.
“As administrator, Mr Mehan will effectively function as a replacement board, guiding the HHS’ operations and retaining the same powers and authorities that would ordinarily vest in the board,” he said.
