Ball committee member Michelle Pearce said the ball will be held on Saturday night (October 8) at the heritage listed Casa Grande property and was sold out.
“The ball is unique in the fact it is held in the outdoors on a transformed tennis court, (which is) a risk as there is no back up plan for rain but to embrace it,” Ms Pearce said. “The theme is a secret until the evening but the ticket is a clue.”
The ticket shows London Eye, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Queen’s guards and a red phone box, so it would be safe to assume it is somehow related to the UK capital.
Ms Pearce said the ball raises money for the Casa Grande Ball Benefit Fund Association to distribute twice yearly to local sporting, education, recreational and cultural groups,
“The ball would not be a success without the support of Mount Isa Mines, our Gold Sponsors and community members that dig deep on the night,” she said.
“The Casa Ball is consistently a sold out event which is great for the Mount Isa community. A lucky door prize of flights to Townsville with an accommodation package is on offer. We conduct one raffle on the evening with many great prizes supplied by local businesses.”
