A knife and axe were used to hold up a tavern on Sunday morning, resulting in two men fleeing on foot with cash.
About 2.50am police were called to the Luprena Street business and believe the robbers broke in, before confronting staff and demanding money.
No one was injured and investigations are continuing.
Police have also charged a man after a separate robbery at a fast food outlet on the Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.
Police said an unarmed man entered the Gold Coast Highway business at Broadbeach about 3.15pm and demanded money from staff.
It is further alleged the man attempted to enter vehicles parked in the carpark without success, before leaving the scene.
Police later located a man allegedly sitting inside a vehicle with a smashed window on Surf Parade.
Officers were allegedly forced to use a Taser on the man after he refused to show them his hands.
A 32-year-old Edens Landing man has been charged with entering premises and various other charges.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
