But there were also calls for more "dignity" in Queensland's parliament.

Asked whether she still had confidence in Ms Fentiman, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the answer was "yes", and said the minister was dedicated to improving the lives of some of the state's most vulnerable children.

Ms Palaszczuk accused the LNP opposition of playing politics with the issue, which was sparked following the death of Logan schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer while in foster care.

"I say to those opposite, it's about time that you came into this place and started acting with dignity in this place," Ms Palaszczuk said.

"Honestly, when the minister was answering the question, you were interjecting, you were heckling, you didn't even give her the courtesy of listening to her when she was addressing serious issues about child safety."

Ms Fentiman was asked whether she could guarantee the safety of the 1124 children whose cases were closed with no outcome according to the latest data.

But Ms Fentiman said families could sometimes move interstate, and the number was consistent with previous years.

"In fact an investigation commenced, what usually happens in these cases is that families move interstate, and an interstate alert, we work with police and our interstate counterparts to locate those families in those states," she said.

"Sometimes, Mr Speaker, no outcome is recorded because the information that Child Safety receives is incomplete, or in fact could be incorrect."

Ms Fentiman said she was "rebuilding the child safety department", with 166 more frontline and frontline support staff than two years ago.

On Saturday, Ms Fentiman announced 82 new, permanent frontline child safety workers.

She said there was a nationwide search to recruit new staff, with recruitment advertisements now online.

Ms Palaszczuk said her government understood there were serious issues in child safety.

"It's not unique to Queensland," she said.
