This year’s traditional Mayor’s Christmas event, the Mayoress Ball, will be replaced with an annual wine tree fundraiser, with all proceeds being donated to the Mount Isa Hospital children’s ward. Mayor Joyce McCulloch said the money raised would go towards purchasing vital equipment including a new defibrillator, phototherapy blanket and compact LED system, bubble Cpap machine, and entertainment devices for the children.
