Nathan Brown will play for St Kilda next year, after Collingwood chose not to make a free agency offer for the key defender.

Brown's departure has placed the Magpies' defensive stocks under pressure, with less than five days remaining in the trade period.
Jack Frost has requested a trade to Brisbane, while Jonathon Marsh has returned to his home state of Western Australia.
The Frost trade may be difficult given the Lions do not currently hold a draft pick between 21 and 78, though one may come in for defender Pearce Hanley should be be traded as expected to Gold Coast.
Ben Reid remains at the Pies, having overcome a series of injuries to play 17 games this year, while the club has Lachie Keeffe returning next year after a two-year suspension for testing positive to banned drug clenbuterol.
Versatile swingman Tyson Goldsack can play tall defence, while incoming free agent Chris Mayne also spent time in the backline at Fremantle this year.
Former top 10 draft pick Matthew Scharenberg is also due to come back next season after having a second knee reconstruction at the end of 2015.
Brown's management approached the Saints last week, and he has signed a two-year deal. The deal is not a big one, meaning Collingwood may not receive any compensation for him.
St Kilda are not looking to also recruit Brown's twin Mitch, who is looking to move from West Coast to a Melbourne club.
The club must now make a decision on whether to retain veteran Sam Fisher, one of five players out of contract at the club.
"Nathan is a handy acquisition for the club and will obviously strengthen our defence," said St Kilda chief operations officer Ameet Bains.
"Bringing Nathan in as a free agent also allows us to fill a key need without compromising our overall trade position; an important consideration given the trades we have completed during this exchange period.
"His ability to hold down a key defensive post makes him an attractive prospect for where our list is currently placed.
"In addition to his experience and leadership on the field, Nathan is a terrific person off the field and we look forward to him joining our ranks."
Brown follows GWS midfielder Jack Steele into the club, with the Saints also set to trade in Western Bulldog Koby Stevens.
The 27-year-old played 130 games for Collingwood since being a top 10 draft pick in 2006, and was part of the 2010 premiership side.
Ironically, the Saints had all but secured Mitch Brown in the 2012 trade period when a three-club deal involving West Coast and Essendon fell through.
The trade collapsed because Essendon defender Cale Hooker, who had a contract, did not want to move to the Eagles.
Brown's move means that of the 2010 grand final line-up, only Reid, Goldsack, Scott Pendlebury, Jarryd Blair and Steele Sidebottom remain at Collingwood. Blair is out of contract but has been offered a one-year extension.
That team at the time was the youngest premiership team in 22 years.
In 2017 more members of that team will play against Collingwood than with it: Dale Thomas, Heath Shaw, Dayne Beams, Heritier Lumumba, Sharrod Wellingham, Brown and Travis Cloke.
Collingwood and the Bulldogs have a deal ready to go for Cloke, with the clubs just waiting to see which picks the Dogs have once Koby Stevens, Nathan Hrovat and Joel Hamling are traded.
